Kveta Rose Counselling

Holistic care rooted in a biblical worldview

I offer counselling for children, teens, adults, and couples

Welcome!

Hi! My name is Kveta, (pronounced key-etta). It means blossom in Czech. I was born and raised in Vancouver and Whistler. I presently live in East Vancouver with my husband who is a pastor at Centre Church, our five children (two teenagers and three grade-school children), and our beloved sheepadoodle. I am an advocate of fostering and adoption, an MCFD foster parent, and the author of Kirabo, A Journey of Faith, Love and Adoption

I find counselling to be incredibly meaningful and encouraging. It is a privilege to listen to others’ stories and be entrusted with their struggles and joys. I long for people to know they are seen, heard, and loved. I believe that the wisdom, power and love of God gives us incredible hope for transformation.

I love being outside in God’s creation as much as I can – enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of our beautiful world through walking, skiing, cycling, swimming and slowly meandering through beautiful gardens. I also enjoy the (mostly) indoor pursuits of reading and writing, and cooking and baking for my family.

My Approach

Holistic Care

Holistic care means I consider how a person’s unique physiology, thoughts and desires, social circumstances and past experiences are interconnected.

The Human Condition

My understanding of the human condition and our identity is fully informed by the Bible’s teaching that we are complex beings who are made in God’s image and who have both physical and spiritual components.

Growth & Healing

As I seek to understand how you want to grow and the areas you want more freedom in, we will, by the grace of God, together consider how the following dynamic components may be involved in the path towards growth and healing:

  • Anxiety, grief, and fear
  • Extending and receiving forgiveness
  • Past experiences
  • Inter-personal relationships
  • Trauma-related suffering
  • Physiological strengths and weaknesses

While my counselling approach is rooted in biblical truth I welcome people who are on a spiritual journey or may not identify as a Christian.

I strive to be informed of medical, psychological, and clinical resources that contribute to compassionate and effective care.

Frequently Asked
Questions

What can I expect at our first session?

I want to acknowledge that booking a first session takes a lot of courage. In our first session we will take time to go over the intake and confidentiality forms. I hope to get to know you a little and your reasons for pursuing counselling and goals you may have. You can expect to be cared for and respected as you share at your own pace. Our reasons for seeking counselling can be painful, and hard to share. You can ask me any questions you have about what you can expect from the counselling process.

While talking through our struggles can be very helpful, I also enjoy using a range of activities to help get to know you and help us gain insight into the thought patterns and emotions behind our behaviours. Activities and play therapy can be very helpful in counselling children. If you are comfortable I will seek God’s guidance and help through prayer, and together we will look at how the Bible speaks to the struggle at hand and the path to healing. Journaling, writing out laments, psalms, prayers, poems, and reading books are activities I often give to people in between sessions to aid in their self-reflection.

The number of sessions will vary depending on the problem you are seeking help in. Sometimes, after people begin counselling, we uncover other layers to the presenting problem which may extend the number of sessions (should that be of interest to you). Generally, the sessions at the beginning of the counselling journey are more frequent (weekly or biweekly) however the frequency and duration are up to you. There is never an obligation to continue booking sessions. Counselling is never meant to be indefinite. As people experience personal growth, their sessions will become less frequent than at the beginning of the counselling journey.

  • Individual Session – 50 minutes – $125
  • Online Individual Session – 50 minutes – $125
  • Relational Counselling Session – 75 minutes – $155
  • Child or Teen Session – 50 minutes – $105

Most insurance plans cover counselling by a registered counsellor. Please speak to your insurance provider about the specific services they cover. I am a registered counsellor with the Canadian Professional Counselors Association (RPC – Provisional Status), #4981. Should your insurance company require additional details please contact me. I do not do direct billing. Once a session is completed and you have paid via etransfer, I will send you a receipt you can submit to your insurance.

"I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly."
